The Blue Lotus

Started out as an imitation of Whistler's 'Rose & Silver', which I think stands for something. But who was a I kidding.. I couldn't handle the complexity and enormity of the original portrait. I filled the canvas, but there was no inspiration in it. So decided to redo it, with focus on 'rose' making her a 'lotus'.

She had a dragon,
She was blue.
Calm and still,
Her elegance, glew.

Acrylics on canvas 18x24.

Spidya

A sketch of spidey which was lying around my desk for a couple of months. Hurriedly colored over couple of more months in nothing-to-do times, using everything around, water colors, arcylics, pens and soft pastels. Today declared it finished... need to find a way to stay thick and complete things, all things.

Phantom of the Opera

Throughly tested the Wacom tablet with sketching/painting. Painting is a different experience completely compared to traditional, and getting used to every application's way of doing things is a bitch. The color tones are not correct, but be it.

Based on a piece from "Dreamscapes", here interpreted as the Phantom of the Opera. Sketched in Gimp. Painted in DeepPaint and ArtRage. Kudos to ArtRage, it is an accomplishment in simplicity!

Lincoln Sketch

Here is a Lincoln in pencils. It was just a portrait sketch, I got bored doing it.. so added the bust/statue extension rendering it weird. Incomplete.

Batman sketch

I was playing with my new Wacom Bamboo Fun. Its unbelievably good...absolutely didn't expect tablets can do so much justice to the pencil-paper experience!

Heres a rough sketch of Batty boy. Done with Wacom Bamboo in Gimp on Mandriva 2009(it plugged-n-played). woohoo!!

Oracle

Saw couple of Japanese styled animation -anime- movies recently. This urge probably comes from that.

Watercolor and color pencils on paper. Needless to say I'm bad at watercolors, though the end result is OK.

PS: The image is bad, will update with a better one. Getting pictures of paintings in a dim lit room is a big pain.

Marvin!

It was interesting how this came out. I was thinking in and around an idea that I had, and then threw in elements to make it into a picture. I don't know how it fits in as art. This is as abstract as I can get :)

Acrylics on canvas.

Tucson

Biggest one I have attempted till date. This one is incomplete too, I ran out of patience and ideas. Will come back and finish this, some day.
Acrylics on stretched canvas.

Two-face

Acrylics on watercolor paper. The eternally imagined two sides of the coin. This came soon after I saw The Dark Knight I think.

Mystic

Acrylics on canvas. Incomplete.

Natalie

First attempt on canvas, now hangs on my wall. Acrylics on canvas, framed at Aaron Brothers.

Peace

Color pencils on paper.

Heroes

One of the paintings made by the character Isaac, from the series Heroes. It is crappy, but I like it.

Parasail

Always had a thing for art, gives me immense satisfaction, no matter how good or bad it is. But I completely lost touch in the last few years. This is my effort to revive it. Hope it keeps along.
